​Sarena Johnson is an oil painter with a concentration in figure painting. She graduated from The University of the Arts with her BFA in 2018. She was one the winners of the Crosscurrents Exhibition Prize at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and received her MFA from there in 2020. As an artist she seeks to empower the feminine, and exercise authenticity and absolute freedom. She is perplexed by the boundaries between one human soul and another, wondering how we are connected yet we are unable to inhabit the awareness of another. It is her mission to bridge this gap through the practice of painting.
